Conduit 2

Conduit 2
I was excited when I saw this game come out. Gone is the overly dramatic story that made government conspiracies as banal as a tour through a doorknob factory, replaced by a tongue-in-cheek narrative that revels in preposterous logic. The paint-by-numbers level design has been tossed in the scrap heap as well. You travel the globe in Conduit 2, and the circuitous layouts make it fun to figure out where to go next.

The Conduit is great because of its outstanding controls, and the precision offered by the Wii Remote/Nunchuk combo is just as impressive the second time around. Now the Classic Controller is an option as well, and though it's not nearly as accurate as the standard scheme. Enemies act more like vaudevillian performers than trained mercenaries. It's funny gunning them down, and because Conduit 2 never pretends to be a serious shooter, the inept AI only adds to the charm.

Your varied arsenal includes military staples such as machine guns and sniper rifles mixed in with a healthy assortment of out-of-this-world armaments. Oftentimes, it takes two or three times as many shots to kill an attacker with an intergalactic offering, which makes using these fancy tools of destruction less enticing.

Despite some neat-looking weapons, the action in Conduit 2 is rather predictable. Fights too often erupt in narrow corridors littered with handy pieces of cover, and the typical layout combined with the aforementioned AI problems make for functional, if derivative, shoot outs.

Acer Aspire 722 Netbook

Acer Aspire 722 Netbook
When I saw this Acer Aspire 722 that it just shines with elegance making it an eye catching piece of device when displayed in public. Nevertheless comparing it to macbooks is not a good baseline if you’re rating it by design since as we all know Filipinos are just so biased with brands and for sure they will mostly pick the popular choice. Let’s set aside the quality, build and branding and it all turns out that I’m going to subjectively side on this Acer Aspire 72.

My impressions of the Acer Aspire 722 is pretty standard. If you’re going to ask me it stands similar to those new netbooks launching and that would be Asus 1215B or the still unreleased MSi u270 here in the Philippines. So if you want to hear about my judgment about Acer 722 then it’s fit for mid-intensive tasks.

This also reminds me for the Acer Aspire D257 with similar aesthetics, it just runs with Intel Atom N570 where the 722 clocks with Ontario C50 from AMD. It promises with 7-hour battery life so that would cover up your office and home work in due time. Availability in the local market is still in question but that is highly possible knowing that Acer is actively releasing their products here in the Philippines.

Acer Iconia Tab A500

Acer Iconia Tab A500
Actually it’s cheap if we’re going to compare it to Motorola Xoom with a price of $600 with almost similar core-specs. It’s not available yet in the Philippines but based from the current trend in which most tablets are appearing (Dell Streak, HP Slate) then it’s fair to assume that it’s introduction is near.

With a capacity of 16gb storage, a dual-core 1GHz Tegra 250 SOC and 1gb of RAM then it’s power player to compete with it’s rivals. Honetly, having that aluminum brush is helpful to remove that cheap, plasticy feel that most consumers felt on the brand. Acer’s known for it so having such this improvement is beneficial in the long run.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 claims 8 hrs of battery life while playing full HD video and it’s really promising if factual review comes out from fellow bloggers. The only downer I see from device would be the thicker and heavier built but it’s nothing if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative. iPad2 may be tingling as a package but if you want something that performs then Iconia Tab is good to have.

This also means a better gaming experience! The 4th generation iPod Touch 8 GB is sold at $229; the 32 GB is sold at $299; and the 64 is sold at $399.
